Google Chrome 8 Stable Released with Built-In PDF Viewer

Finally, Google Chrome 8 stable has been released. More than 800 bug fixes has been done on this new build 8.0.552.215, which includes a built-in PDF viewer as well. Interested users can update the browser through the menu and select “About Google Chrome”. Alternatively, you can go to the official website.

The built-in PDF viewer in Google Chrome 8 has now been sandboxed by default. Thus, you can safely read PDF documents within the browser. There aren’t many features added to this newest version, but the number of the bug fixes that reaches up to over 800 bugs alone has made it worth for you to perform an update immediately.

Revert to Old Google Image Search in Firefox & Google Chrome

I’ve posted about how to revert back to old google image search in Firefox and Google Chrome before, but unfortunately the Greasemonkey script doesn’t seem to work anymore. The manual method still works but manually changing the link everytime you start an image search is definitely not comfortable. How to Revert Back to Old Google Image Search on Firefox & Chrome

The main reason I dislike the new Google Image Search interface is that my favorite Firefox plugin to open the images in one click is no longer working. Another reason, I can’t jump directly to a certain search page, e.g. page 10 or page 5. Personally, in short, I don’t feel comfortable at all with the new interface, so I decide to look for a way how to revert back to the old google image search interface. More »
