Copy Files With Pause and Resume Capability Even After Restarting Your PC
The built-in copy feature in Windows 7 can copy files fast. Therefore, it is already more than enough for most copying activities. Even I had once compare it with another third-party copying program and the built-in utility came out as a winner in terms of speed. However, no one can argue the fact that it lacks some must-have features like the ability to pause and resume the copying process. There are a number of programs that offer this pause/resume capability, and LDMove is one of them.
Seeing from what it can do, LDMove is most useful for copying a large number of files that makes you doubt they can be copied all at once at a certain time. In other words, have you ever had to copy files that you have to stop in the middle of the way because you have to go somewhere else? The trouble comes when you have to search the files that haven’t been copied. It becomes harder when the files are located in different folders. This is where LDMove can help you out.

The program allows you to add files from different folders. Each of the added files can be copied to its own location. If you have, let’s say, 5 big files, you can copy each of them to different locations. Clicking the Start button will begin the copying process. You can pause and resume it anytime you want. Moreover, the list of the added files are still in the program even after you close it or after you turn off your PC, ready to be resumed.
However, for the file that is still being processed at the time you close the program, a reset is required to copy it again from the start. Note that you only need to reset the copy process for the file only. Right-click on the file within the list and click the Reset command. The status of the file will change to “Waiting”. This time, when you click the Start button, it will only copy the file.
The list of the files can be cleared by clicking the “Clear” button.
Despite its name, LDMove is actually capable only of copying files, not moving them. The program is free and it works well when tested on Windows 7. Note that it requires .NET Framework 3.5 installed on your PC. In this version, v1.01, it only supports drag and drop to add files to the list. If there is another update, I want to see an integration capability with the Windows explorer context-menu for adding files.
